Sr. UX Designer
Sr. UI Designer
We are looking for a senior user interface designer for interaction and graphics to join our apps and services design team at our headquarters in New Taipei.
As Senior UI Designer you will be part of a tightly integrated, highly collaborative team designing a suite of lifestyle and productivity apps and cloud-based services that run on multiple devices, including phones, tablets, and laptop computers. We aim to ensure that our customers love our products and want to use them every day.
You will have the opportunity to set new standards of elegance, enjoyment, and simplicity for powerful multi-device UIs that redefine anytime/anywhere computing.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead interaction design and functional analysis for standard-setting multi-device UIs
- Contribute to graphic design and art direction of apps on various platforms
- Work with designers, product managers, and engineers to understand and document product requirements and technical constraints
- Define interaction design activities and deliverables for every stage of the design and development cycle of assigned products
- Communicate design concepts to product managers, engineers, other designers, executive management, and other stakeholders
- Communicate and document design decisions and specifications in a timely and effective way to product managers and engineers
- Create and iterate through design concepts, flow charts, wire frames, comps, static and interactive design prototypes, design specifications, and other deliverables in a way that’s tightly integrated with design and development processes
- Work with researchers to significantly contribute to the planning, design, and execution of usability testing and other user research activities
- Work with external resources, as necessary, to create and iterate through design deliverables
- Work with other designers to create and promote design standards and guidelines for the Acer experience

- Four years of experience in the user interface design of consumer electronic products; two years specifically on mobile platforms, designing across multiple device types and contexts (desktop, mobile, other devices)
- Graduate degree or equivalent experience in user interface design, graphic design, computer-human interaction, product design, cognitive psychology, human factors, or related field
- Expert facility in the tools used for creating UI design deliverables, including flow charts, wire frames, visual comps, design prototypes, and design specifications (Axure and Adobe Creative Cloud preferred)
- Proven ability to work with cross-functional, multi-cultural, multilingual, and geographically distributed teams (English and Mandarin preferred)
- Demonstrated knowledge and practice of interaction design, graphic design, functional analysis, and design communication in highly technical and consumer-oriented product environments
- Exceptional ability to effectively communicate design concepts to designers, engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders
- Expansive knowledge of, and enthusiasm for, how people use and enjoy multiple highly portable consumer electronic devices
- Motivated, adaptable, and a quick study
- Has fun at work, enjoys a good challenge
